Finding Nature in the City: A Scavenger Hunt

It’s time for a new activity page!

I’ve created a couple of bingo sheets in the past. There’s one in this post for different kinds of bugs. There’s one in this post for a spring flower hunt.

Those activities encourage kids to get outside and explore.

Recently, though, I’ve realized that isn’t always possible.

What kinds of “outside” activities can we do if we are are living in an apartment? Or what if we don’t have access to an outside space right now?

Here’s a bingo page I’ve made specifically for that situation!

These are all sounds or sights that you can find in a city or a suburb! Even sitting by an open window, you can listen for trucks beeping or insects buzzing.

You can download a PDF version here.

Use this list as inspiration–see what other things you notice through the day! If you want, you can even start a journal with your kids to record what you see or hear.
