The original idea for this book hatched early one morning in November . . .

I was making breakfast, and my (then) toddler was helping me ‘count’ the eggs as we took them out of the carton. We were practicing numbers:

One egg, two, three.
Where do we get eggs?
Well, the store, usually–but do you remember gathering eggs?
At Oma’s?
Yes. Did you know frogs also lay eggs? Here, let me find you a picture of frog eggs
 . . .

Just like that!

At the time, I had very little experience in illustrating picture books, beyond some art classes back in high school. I enjoyed the process, though, and I kept on making more books.

Eventually, I decided to go back to school for more training. I graduated from CSUMB with a certificate in Science Illustration in 2023. A couple years after that, I realized that it was time to update the illustrations for Who Laid the Egg?.

And now . . .

The second version of Who Laid the Egg? is finally available, with some new illustrations, some slight editing, and all the fun animals from the first edition!

You can find it online Who Laid the Egg? is online from Amazon and Barnes and Noble, as well as through Bookshop.
